Hi, I’m Susan, finding art in fiber. I am a daughter, a mother, and a grandma and I come from a line of women who crochet, knit and sew. I have been making art and crafts for as long as I can remember. I am always fashioning something, from yarn, fabric, paper, or paint to bread dough and gardening, I love it all.
Math and grammar are my favorite subjects so patterns and writing are a natural fit. I focus primarily on crochet. I have experience working from a simple pattern through some very complex pieces. Some things I make are styled from my own designs, others from the patterns of a variety of other designers’ patterns. I am well versed in pattern reading and writing.
Some of my favorite pieces are mandalas. I have tested and completed many. I have also tech edited quite a few.
I have completed Lynne Rowe’s Tech Editing Masterclass.

My average turnaround time is 5-7 days. I will let you know in the beginning if it will take longer, depending on my availability.
Once we discuss your project, I will ask that you provide me with a copy of your pattern so I can assess the level of editing needed. If I accept your pattern for editing, I will provide you with a time and cost range for the work. I can not anticipate all problems that will crop up so I use the time/cost range to give you the best possible estimate. I will never go over the estimate without discussing it with you first.
Every project is unique which is why I will provide you with an estimate customized to your project. Here are a few examples of how long a straightforward project may take:
For most basic edits, these are the steps that I will take:
I work from Google Docs (preferred), Microsoft Office or PDF. Google Docs is preferred because it is a simple format where we can communicate as I work.
While working together we will communicate through email and/or Google Docs. I will check in with you if I run across anything unusual I think you need to work on. When I am finished I will send the file to you.
If you want me to check it again I will (see cost above). I will recheck anything you think I missed or that you are unsure about. I can work with you to iron out the kinks. Your reputation and style are important to me!
No my services are for crochet only.
